THE AUTHENTIC ITALIAN TABLE AT PIZZAFEST
LOS ANGELES ROLLS OUT THE RED CARPET FOR AUTHENTIC ITALIAN PIZZA ON MAY 13 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles is preparing to welcome the Authentic Italian Table Series, a string of events and workshops organized by the IACCW, highlighting the art of Neapolitan pizza as well as the values of the Italian food culture. As part of the greater Extraordinary Italian Taste campaign – a promotional and educational project conceived by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, in collaboration with Assocamerestero – this event points the spotlight on “the queen of the Italian table”! On May 13th, 2018 at PizzaFest, during LA Times Food Bowl, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West brings to Los Angeles Italy’s very own Enzo Coccia (Pizzaria La Notizia, Naples, Italy), largely considered the creator of the Neapolitan gourmet pizza. Enzo Coccia is known worldwide as an extraordinary example of pizza artisan, whose competence as been acclaimed by media and critics worldwide. Enzo has also been recently nominated by the Italian Government as part of a Technical Committee of experts coordinating events for the Year of Italian Food.
At PizzaFest, Enzo Coccia will be leading: A’ PIZZA! A PIZZA LAB, sharing the secrets, invaluable tips and ancient traditions during a once in a lifetime workshop. Enzo Coccia will also be joining panel discussions on pizza, along with prominent culinary personalities, moderated by Pulitzer-Prize-winning Los Angeles Times food critic Jonathan Gold and LA Times deputy culinary editor, Jenn Harris.
“Authentic Italian pizza is one of the world’s best-loved foods,” said Genny Nevoso, Executive Director of the IACCW. “This event will underscore the difference that quality ingredients, technique and heritage make on a truly authentic experience. Believe me, there is a world of difference between cheap cardboard-like imitations and farm-fresh ingredients infused into time-tested recipes originating in Italy.”
